Echoes of Folkestone

Echoes of Folkestone is an Immersive Arts Explore project investigating how movement, sound, and collective memory can reactivate the atmosphere of a place that no longer exists.

Centred on La Parisienne (“The Priz”), the project does not reconstruct the venue, but examines its social function: a carnivalesque space where hierarchy loosened, identity blurred, and collective excess became temporarily permissible.

Rather than producing a fixed archive, the work constructs a hauntological environment, using fragments — movement, sound, voice, and spatial interaction — to activate shared cultural memory
